Peace on the Street received a $5000 grant from the Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation

  The grant is used to establish the Charles P Rangel scholarship fund to provide support for participants in our Coming of Age - New Warrior Training for Inner City Youth. The program is designed to provide an intense intervention using martial arts and meditation technology with inner city youth challenged by anger and violence. A charity luncheon was held on September 30th on the Crown Princess where the grant was received by Kris Acevedo, a participant in the Coming of Age program.  The staff of Peace on the Street where joined by Annette Ensley, Director of Administration and Human Resources for the Nathan Cummins Foundation and Melissa Nieves director of adult education for the union settlement house.
